Women's Tennis Battles Back To Knock Off Lebanon Valley, 6-1

Annville, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team rebounded from dropping the doubles point and swept all six singles flights en route to a 6-1 victory over Lebanon Valley College on Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Stevens (5-5, 2-0 MAC Freedom) earned its lone doubles victory at the top of the lineup, where Stephanie Untermeyer and Lorena Piegas secured a 7-5 win. Alix Dry and Milagros Carbajal Diaz fell 6-4 at the No. 2 position, while Emma Eguia and Gigi Arenas were edged 6-3 at No. 3.
 
In singles play, Dry set the tone at the top spot with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win over Sarah McComas. Untermeyer battled back after dropping the first set at No. 2 singles, rallying to defeat Catherine Stone 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. Carbajal Diaz edged Erika Badner in two tightly contested sets, 7-5, 7-6(4). Eguia followed with a solid 6-3, 6-2 victory over Megan Martin, while Piegas cruised past Emily Bryant 6-2, 6-1. Arenas completed the singles sweep with a gritty 3-6, 6-0, 10-4 win over Sarah Kramer in a third-set super tiebreaker.
 
UP NEXT
The Ducks return to their home court tomorrow, hosting The College of New Jersey at the Bayonne Tennis Courts. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m.
