Men's Volleyball's Sherman Named MAC Player of the Year; Five Ducks Named All-Conference

ANNVILLE, PA. – Outside hitter Koby Sherman was named Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Player of the Year for the third straight season, leading a slew of Stevens Institute of Technology men's volleyball year-end honors, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Sherman, the team's lone First Team selection, was joined by Second Team selections Jesse Knuckles (libero), Tyler Hoke (middle hitter), Joshua Levandoske (outside hitter), and honorable mention Greg Li (middle hitter). Sherman was also named Region III All-Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

Messiah took home the other three individual conference honors: Defensive Player of the Year (Conner Stauffer), Rookie of the Year (Todd Snyder), and Coach of the Year (Justin Beachy).

Sherman put away 247 kills in 69 sets during the regular season, notching 15 or more kills in six contests, averaging 19.5 kills against MAC Tournament teams Stevenson and Messiah. The Sunnyvale, Calif. native averaged at least four kills per set in 11 games, including a four-set, 22-kill performance against the conference's No. 2 seeded Falcons. Sherman also added Middle Atlantic Conference Most Outstanding Player honors following the Ducks' fourth straight tournament championship victory last Saturday, notching 36 kills in seven sets across the semifinal and championship match

Knuckles, a First Team selection following the 2024 season, earns a second straight all-conference honor after averaging 2.23 digs per set during the regular season (2.50 in MAC action). Knuckles averaged 3.57 digs per set against MAC Tournament teams Misericordia and Messiah during the regular season and notched at least 10 digs six times.

Hoke repeats on the all-conference second team after leading the Ducks with 51 total blocks while also totaling 91 kills during the regular season, good for fourth on the squad. Hoke had nine games with at least one kill per set AND one block per set, and averaged one block per set against the three other MAC Tournament teams (Messiah, Misericordia, Stevenson) in conference play.

After coming on strong late last season, Levandoske showed no signs of a sophomore slump in 2025, averaging more than 1.7 kills per set during the regular season, adding more than 1.3 digs per set on the defensive end. Levandoske played all 12 sets against MAC Tournament teams Messiah, Misericordia, and Stevenson during the regular season, averaging 2.33 kills per set in those meetings, including four in a 25-23 first set win over the Falcons.

Li was, at times, nearly unstoppable during the regular season, hitting .500 or better 10 times, including a string of five straight games, during which time he totaled 33 kills on just 51 swings. The first-year middle blocker totaled 95 kills and 43 total blocks in 64 sets, notably a six-kill, eight-block performance in a five-set win over then-No. 12 Baldwin Wallace and a 10-kill, four-block effort in a sweep of Hobart.

Up Next: Following a fourth straight MAC Championship, the Ducks will host a five-team pod at Canavan Arena for the NCAA Men's Volleyball Championship, beginning this week. Stevens will take on the winner of Randolph-Macon and Nichols on Friday. The winner of that Friday match will face the winner of Juniata and Wentworth in the quarterfinal round on Saturday. During the regular season, Stevens swept Nichols, swept Randolph-Macon, defeated Wentworth in four sets, and lost to Juniata in three sets.
