Hoboken, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's volleyball team earned the Team Academic Champion honor and also received the Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), the organization announced Monday.
With a cumulative GPA of 3.812, the Ducks posted the highest academic mark among all men's volleyball programs across Divisions I, II, and III. Stevens has earned the Team Academic Award for 11 consecutive seasons and ranked in the top 20% of Division III teams for the fourth straight year. The 11-year streak is tied with Vassar for the longest among Division III programs. Nationally, Harvard University holds the longest active streak, having been recognized 14 consecutive years.
On the court, the Ducks turned in another impressive campaign, finishing with a 25-5 overall record. Stevens went a perfect 8-0 in Middle Atlantic Conference play and captured its fourth straight MAC Championship. The Ducks hosted the first three rounds of the NCAA Tournament and were ranked as high as No. 3 in the AVCA national rankings during the season.
