BAYONNE, N.J.– The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team split a pair of matches at the Bayonne Tennis Courts Saturday, sweeping DeSales 7-0 in MAC Freedom play and dropping a 6-1 non-conference contest to Haverford.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED - DESALES
The Ducks began the day taking all three doubles matches from the Bulldogs. The No. 1 pairing of Giai Arenas & Lorena Piegas won 6-2, Sude Aytekin & Milagros Carbajal Diaz won 6-0 at No. 2, and Emma Eguia/Aliona Heitz completed the sweep with a 6-0 win at No. 3.

In singles action, Eguia picked up her 50^th win as a Duck with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4. Elsewhere, Alix Dry won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1, Aytekin won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2, Carbajal Diaz won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3, Arenas won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5, and Heitz won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6.

HOW IT HAPPENED – HAVERFORD
All three doubles matches finished 6-4, with Aytekin and Carbajal Diaz picking up the lone win for Stevens with the Fords taking the early point.

Aytekin picked up the Ducks' lone point of the match with a 10-8 win in the tiebreak in her match at No. 3 singles.

UP NEXT
The Ducks head to Glenside, Pa. on. Wednesday, April 23, for MAC Freedom action with Arcadia. 3:30 p.m. is the scheduled time for first serve.
