Box Score Glenside, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team remained unbeaten in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom play with a 7-0 victory over Arcadia University on Wednesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Ducks set the tone early in doubles, winning all three matches while dropping just one game. At the top of the lineup,
Alix Dry and
Stephanie Untermeyer dominated with a 6-0 victory, while
Gigi Arenas and
Lorena Piegas were equally sharp at No. 2.
Milagros Carbajal Diaz and
Emma Eguia completed the sweep at No. 3 with a 6-1 decision.
In singles, Stevens continued their commanding performance. Dry handled her opponent at the top spot with a 6-2, 6-2 win, while Untermeyer delivered a flawless 6-0, 6-0 result at No. 2. Carbajal Diaz followed with a strong 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 3, and Eguia cruised at No. 4 with her own 6-0, 6-0 sweep. Piegas and Arenas wrapped up the match at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, each posting perfect 6-0, 6-0 victories.
