Ethan Stallone and
Kyle Savino broke their own school records as the Stevens Institute of Technology men's track & field team finished seventh at the Middle Atlantic Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday.
The Ducks totaled 56.5 points in their seventh-place finish. Lebanon Valley won the team title with 139 points, followed by Misericordia with 118.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Stallone set a new school record in the 110-meter hurdles, winning the event with a time of 14.55—claiming victory by 0.11 seconds. He had qualified for the final with a fourth-place time of 14.86. Savino placed third in the 400-meter with a school-record time of 47.89, after leading all qualifiers with a 48.79 in the prelims.
Danny Jutras finished fifth in the 800-meter, clocking 1:54.56, while Stallone added a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles at 56.25. In the 1,500-meter,
Jake Aylmer and
Ryan Paradine both earned top-seven finishes—Aylmer was fifth in 3:59.66 and Paradine took seventh in 4:01.77.
Liam Concannon led the Ducks in the 5,000-meter with a sixth-place time of 15:06.33. Also in the 1,500,
Bryan Onody (4:11.01),
Caleb Stephen (4:13.50), and
Kevin Medrow (4:15.68) turned in solid efforts, while
Jake Porco placed 20th in the 5,000-meter at 16:11.85.
The 4x400-meter relay team of
Connor Robinson,
Rai Bindra, Jutras, and Savino placed 10th, finishing in 3:23.04. In the field events,
Braedan Joyce contributed two points by finishing seventh in the javelin with a throw of 51.17m.
Cooper Kinsley led Stevens in the shot put, finishing 18th with a mark of 12.57m—edging 19th place by 0.12m.
Connor Efinger placed 20th in the triple jump with a leap of 12.34m.
