Hoboken, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology softball team has announced its schedule for the upcoming season, featuring early-season trips to California and Georgia, a competitive non-conference slate, and a full Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom schedule leading into postseason play.
Stevens opens the season with a West Coast trip on February 14–15, traveling to California for doubleheaders at the University of La Verne and Occidental College. The Ducks return to the region for a midweek doubleheader at Kean University on February 25. In early March, Stevens will compete at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga., from March 6–8. The Ducks are set to face Denison, Cortland, Pacific Lutheran, Bethel, LaGrange, and Transylvania during the four-day event. Following the tournament, Stevens opens MAC Freedom play with a doubleheader at DeSales University on March 14.
The Ducks return to New Jersey for a home-opening doubleheader against Hunter College on March 15 at Weehawken Waterfront Park. Road non-conference action follows with a pair of games at Montclair State on March 18 before Stevens resumes conference play at Delaware Valley University on March 21. Late March features several home dates in Weehawken, beginning with a doubleheader against NYU on March 25 and a MAC Freedom twinbill against Misericordia University on March 28. Conference play continues on the road at Lebanon Valley College on April 3 before Stevens returns home to host Ramapo College on April 8.
The Ducks continue MAC Freedom action with home doubleheaders against Arcadia University on April 11 and King's College (Pa.) on April 18. Additional non-conference games against Drew University on April 15 and Manhattanville College on April 22 round out the home schedule. Stevens closes the regular season with a conference doubleheader against FDU-Florham on April 25. The MAC Freedom Tournament will be held from April 30 through May 2 with the conference champion earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
