Hoboken, N.J. –
Tommy Scholl recorded his third double-double as the Stevens Institute of Technology men's basketball team defeated DeSales University, 78-68, in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The opening half was tightly contested, featuring multiple ties and lead changes as both teams traded early advantages. DeSales opened up a six-point lead seven minutes in, but
Matt Leming knocked down a fast-break three-pointer to cut the deficit in half. Despite being held without a field goal for the next four minutes, Scholl connected from deep to knot the game at 18.
That basket ignited a 10-0 Stevens run, highlighted by a three-pointer and a layup from
Kyle Maddison. Holding a two-point lead with 3:32 remaining in the half, Maddison buried another triple before
Harmehar Chhabra added a layup, pushing the Ducks' advantage to seven at 33-26. DeSales scored the final points of the half, trimming the margin to four at the break.
The Bulldogs evened the score at 35 just two minutes into the second half, but Scholl answered immediately with a three-pointer on the ensuing possession. The teams continued to trade baskets midway through the period before DeSales tied the game again at 54 with a three-pointer at the 10:20 mark.
Stevens seized control with an 8-0 run, bookended by three-pointers from Leming and Maddison. DeSales responded with five straight points to get within three, but Leming halted the momentum with another deep three, sparking a decisive 9-0 Ducks spurt.
The Stevens lead grew to double figures late, capped by a pull-up jumper from Maddison while drawing contact and converting the free throw. The Ducks closed the game by going 6-for-7 at the free-throw line in the final minutes to secure the conference victory.
