BETHLEHEM, Pa. / HAVERFORD, Pa. -- The Stevens Institute of Technology women's track and field won a pair of events and collected seven Top-3 finishes between the Moravian-hosted Hounds Indoor Classic and Haverford-hosted Seamus McElligott Invitational on Saturday.
The Hounds Classic featured just three women's events, but
Maggie Previglian took third in the high jump, clearing 1.58 meters,
Anacarolina Ventura posted a season-best distance of 9.13 meters in the shot put, and
Liliana Kraljic, though not the Ducks' high finisher in the weight throw (
Claire Deatrick – 11.40 meters) did set a PR at 8.40 meters.
The more event-filled McElligott Invitational saw two Duck victories.
Isabella Shanley ran 1:01.28 in the 400 meters, winning by more than two seconds, and
Stephanie Ryazanova flew 5.09 meters in the long jump, one of just two competitors who went further than 4.52 meters.
Other noteworthy performances for Stevens included
Lauren Alley in the 400, who took third (just .04 away from a 1-2 finish with Shanley in the event),
Kaitlyn Adams who took second in the mile,
Alexis Merola who finished third in the pole vault, and
Munachimso Nwadukwe who claimed third in the triple jump; Nwadukwe also took sixth in the long jump.
