New York, N.Y. / Boston, Mass. / Philadelphia, Pa. – More than a half-dozen members of the Stevens Institute of Technology women's track and field team set new PRs or season bests during a busy Saturday throughout the Northeast.
At the Widener Indoor Classic in Philly,
Maya Lapinski set a new PR with a top distance of 5.17 meters in the long jump, .01 meters than her previous PR set two weeks ago. For the second day in a row,
Breona Pizzuta set a PR in the weight throw, posting 12.22 meters on Saturday after hitting 12.17 meters on Friday. Additionally,
Chelsea Baxter recorded a new season best in the triple jump with a mark of 9.91 meters.
At the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston,
Anya Sadowski ran 2:23.48 in the 800 meters, her first time running under 2:27.00. In the 200 meters,
Stephanie Ryazanova ran 27.29, more than eight-tenths of a second faster than her PR entering the day (28.16).
Isabella Gabay knocked more than a second off her previous fastest time of 5:18.02, running 5:16.82, and
Kaitlyn Adams rans 5:21.30, more than seven seconds faster than her previous fastest time of 5:28.92. Additionally, Sadowski,
Lauren Alley,
Isabel Vogel, and
Isabella Shanley knocked nearly 10 seconds off their 4x400 relay time, running 4:04.77, their first time clocking under 4:14.00.
