Birmingham, Ala. – Senior
Maggie Previglian of the Stevens Institute of Technology women's track & field team placed 19th in the high jump at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday.
Serena McNeilly of Centre won the event, clearing 1.79m, while Jaden Gatts of Dubuque finished second at 1.73m. Previglian was one of three competitors from the Middle Atlantic Conference, joining Meghan Kreinberg of FDU-Florham and Trinity Batista of York.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The senior cleared the opening height of 1.59m on her third attempt. The bar was then raised to 1.64m, but Previglian was unable to clear it. The 1.59m mark tied for the fourth-highest clearance of her season and matched the height she reached in each of her last two appearances.
Previglian was making her first appearance at an NCAA Championship meet and punched her ticket to nationals with a personal-best height of 1.67m in her season debut at the Crowell Invitational & Multi in December. She finishes her indoor career tied for third all-time in Stevens indoor history at 1.67m, trailing NCAA qualifiers Amira Dardir (1.69m in 2014) and Gladys Njoku (1.80m). Previglian won her first MAC Championship this year and recorded back-to-back 11th-place finishes at the AARTFC Indoor Championships over the last two seasons.
