Hilton Head, S.C. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team completed a perfect Spring Break trip with a 5-2 victory over No. 28 North Carolina Wesleyan University on Wednesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Stevens found itself in a 1-0 hole after doubles, as the Bishops took two of the three flights.
Samvid Andhare and
Dhaivik Chenemilla were the lone winners, earning a 6-4 victory at No. 2. The top pairing of
Max-William Kanz and
Renat Kramin were edged 7-5, while
Elias Alkio and
Tristan Wroe fell 6-3.
Kanz outlasted his opponent at No. 1 singles, posting a 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 win, while Andhare followed with a 7-5, 6-3 triumph at No. 2. The Bishops picked up a win at No. 3, but Kramin responded with a 6-4, 6-2 victory. Chenemilla earned a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 5, and Wroe sealed the match with a 7-5, 6-3 victory.
