Sibbach Sets Program Wins Record as Baseball Downs Delaware Valley, 7-2

Doylestown, Pa. – Dylan Fishbough had a pair of two-run homers, E.J. Balewitz Jr. and Garret Wolf each went deep, and Erik Sibbach allowed a lone earned run over eight innings of work, leading the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team to their first Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom win of the season Friday over Delaware Valley, 7-2.

Sibbach picked up his 23rd win as a Duck, setting a new career program record.

How It Happened
Wolf launched an opposite field homer leading off the second after each side went three-up, three-down in the first. Sibbach and Delaware Valley starter Patrick Flynn set down 13 of the following 15 batters before a Griffin Zitko walk followed by Fishbough's first homer of the day with two out in the fourth pushed the Ducks' advantage out to 3-0.

The Aggies loaded the bases with no one out in the bottom of the fourth, but thanks in large part to Zitko nabbing an attempted base-stealer, Sibbach got out of the threat yielding a single unearned run.

Each side pushed a run across in the fifth, then in the sixth, with one out, Zitko singled ahead of Fishbough who legged out an inside-the-parker, extending the lead out to 6-2. Balewitz Jr. added on in the seventh with another round-tripper over the wall in right.

Neither side put a runner past second base until the ninth when Delaware Valley put two runners in scoring position, but Evan Carrier ended the game for Stevens (8-7, 1-2) with a strikeout.

Inside the Box Score
  • Friday marked just the fourth time since the start of the 2020 season that the Ducks hit four homers in a game
  • Wolf – who missed nearly the entire 2025 season -- matched his home run total from 2024 (four), though he did so in 39 fewer at-bats than he needed to hit his fourth two years ago
  • Entering the day with 14 strikeouts in 28 innings coming in, Sibbach matched his career-high with 10 in his eight innings of work
  • Zitko joined Wolf with a two-hit afternoon; he's hitting .421 (8-for-19) in his last six games after starting the season with just five hits in his first 25 at-bats
Up Next
The teams wrap their MAC Freedom series tomorrow with a doubleheader scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM tomorrow; the Ducks will honor the Class of 2026 with Senior Day ceremonies between games.
