New York, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's track and field team competed in two relays, the pole vault, and the 5,000 meters on Friday during the first day of the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships.
Lauren Alley,
Anya Sadowski,
Isabel Vogel, and
Isabella Shanley set a program record in the 4x400-meter relay, running 3:59.21, breaking the previous program record set six years ago by more than three seconds – the mark was also more than five seconds faster than the quartet's previous fastest time set three weeks ago; all four women ran under 1:01 for their leg on Friday.
Vogel pulled double duty at the meet, also running in the distance medley relay, teaming with
Isabella Gabay,
Taylor Enes, and
Madeline Bender to run 12:50.73, the 10
th-fastest time in program history.
Elsewhere,
Alexis Merola cleared 3.12 meters in the pole vault on her first attempt at the height and
Kaitlyn Adams clocked 19:48.94 in the 5,000.
