Samvid Andhare tallied a win at singles and doubles, but the Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team fell 6-1 to Franklin & Marshall on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Ducks trailed 1-0 after doubles, as the Diplomats took two of the three matches. Andhare partnered with
Dhaivik Chenemilla at the No. 2 flight, notching a 6-4 decision. The duo trailed 4-0 before reeling off the next six games.
Renat Kramin and
Max-William Kanz fell 6-4 at the top of the lineup, while
Elias Alkio and
Tristan Wroe dropped a 6-2 decision.
Andhare recorded the lone singles victory, claiming a 6-3, 6-3 triumph at the No. 2 flight. Batra (No. 6 singles) and Kanz (No. 1) each won their first set but dropped the next two.
Kanz won 7-5 before falling 6-4, 7-5, while Batra was victorious 6-3 before dropping the next two sets 6-2, 6-0. Wroe also went three sets, winning the second 7-5 after losing the first 6-3, but was upended 6-0 in the tiebreaking third frame. Kramin battled back from a 6-2 loss at the No. 3 flight to take the second set 6-4 before being topped 6-4 in the third, while Chenemilla fell 6-4, 6-1.

The Ducks will face the College of Coastal Georgia on March 16 in Hilton Head, S.C., one of three matches they will play down south.
