Bayonne, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team overcame dropping the doubles point by taking four of the six singles flights en route to a 4-3 win over Salisbury University.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Stevens trailed 1-0 after doubles, falling in two of the three flights.
Ian Batra and
Tristan Wroe were the lone winners, earning a 6-1 triumph at the No. 3 flight.
Max-William Kanz and
Renat Kramin fell 6-3 at the top of the lineup, as
Samvid Andhare and
Dhaivik Chenemilla were bested by the same score at the No. 2 spot.
Kanz got the comeback started with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 2 singles spot, with Batra claiming a 6-3 victory at No. 3. The bottom two spots at singles sealed the win, with
Johnny Haase winning 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6. Wroe outlasted his foe at the No. 5 flight in three sets. He won 6-0 in the opening frame before falling 6-2 in the second. Wroe responded with a 6-3 triumph in the tiebreaker.
