Bayonne, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team rolled to a 7-0 shutout of Arcadia University in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom action on Tuesday afternoon.
The Ducks improved to 12-1 overall and remained unbeaten in conference play at 5-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Stevens set the tone in doubles, surrendering just two total games across the three flights.
Kaylee Hobbick and
Alix Dry posted a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles, while
Aliona Heitz and
Lorena Piegas matched that result with a shutout at No. 3.
Gigi Arenas and
Stephanie Untermeyer capped the sweep with a 6-2 victory in the top spot.
The dominance carried into singles, where the Ducks claimed all six matches in straight sets. Hobbick at No. 4 singles and Arenas at No. 5 each earned 6-0, 6-0 wins. Untermeyer added a 6-1, 6-0 decision at No. 3, while Heitz and Piegas each turned in 6-2, 6-0 victories at No. 6 and No. 2, respectively.
Alix Dry closed out the sweep with a 7-5, 6-3 win at the top of the lineup.
