Bayonne, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team sealed the No. 1 seed in next week's Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Tournament with a 7-0 victory over Lebanon Valley College on Sunday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Ducks (12-5, 5-0 MAC Freedom) won all three doubles flights while surrendering just two games.
Elias Alkio and
Dhaivik Chenemilla blanked their opponents 6-0 at the No. 3 spot, while the No. 1 and No. 2 flights each earned 6-1 triumphs.
Max-William Kanz and
Samvid Andhare notched the 6-1 win at the top spot, and
Ian Batra and
Tristan Wroe won at the No. 2 flight.
Johnny Haase lost just one game at the No. 6 spot in singles, winning 6-0, 6-1, while Chenemilla notched a 6-0, 6-2 triumph at No. 3 singles. Alkio nearly matched him at the No. 5 spot, winning 6-2, 6-0. Batra tallied a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 2, with Kanz winning 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 and Wroe claiming a 6-1, 6-2 triumph.

The Ducks will host DeSales University or Misericordia University in the MAC Freedom Semifinals on Wednesday, with first serve at the Bayonne Tennis Courts scheduled for 3 p.m.
