Swarthmore, Pa. – The No. 36 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team was topped 7-0 by No. 13 Swarthmore College on Saturday morning.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Garnet (12-5) claimed the doubles point after taking all three flights. The Ducks (7-4) top duo of
Max-William Kanz and
Renat Kramin fell 6-2, while
Samvid Andhare and
Dhaivik Chenemilla were knocked off 6-1 at the No. 2 flight. Rounding out the doubles lineup were
Elias Alkio and
Tristan Wroe, who were topped 6-0.
Andhare, moving up in the lineup to play at No. 1 singles, was clipped 6-3, 6-4, while Wroe was topped 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 5 flight. After falling 6-0 in the first set at No. 2 singles, Kanz battled but was ultimately knocked off 6-4 in the second. Chenemilla fell 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4, while Kramin was defeated 6-1, 6-2.
