Bayonne, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team cruised past FDU-Florham 7-0 in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom action on Wednesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Ducks took the doubles point, making quick work at the No. 1 and No. 2 flights. After receiving a forfeit victory at No. 3 doubles, Stevens dropped just two games across the other two flights.
Wei-Wei Lai and
Lorena Piegas blanked their foes 6-0 at the top of the lineup, while
Stephanie Untermeyer and
Aliona Heitz earned a 6-1 win at No. 2.
With forfeit wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 lines, Stevens tallied victories in each of the other four flights to seal the shutout.
Alix Dry won 6-1, 6-0 at the top spot, as Piegas (No. 2), Untermeyer (No. 3), and Lai (No. 4) all recorded shutouts en route to 6-0, 6-0 triumphs.
UP NEXT
The Ducks head to Pennsylvania for a pair of tough regional opponents this weekend. On Saturday, they battle Dickinson College, with first serve scheduled for 2:00 pm.
