Howey-in-The-Hills, Fla. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf team completed a previously suspended Round 1 of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships on Wednesday, finishing the first 18 holes in 36
th place with a team total of 313 (+25).
After rain Tuesday forced much of the field, including all five Ducks to play the remaining holes from Round 1 this morning.
Arav Tank and
Sebastian Beaver shared the team's low round with matching 77's (+5).
Ben Slicker was a shot back of Tank & Beaver, and
Jack Harris &
Noah Eide were each three shots of back of Slicker with 81's.
Starting at the 10
th hole, Beaver, Tank, Slicker, and Eide all played the back nine at +1 or +2, while Tank, Beaver, and Harris all played the front nine at +3 or +4.
No. 7 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps topped the field with an opening round four-under (284), one shot better than No. 4 Carnegie Mellon, and two better than No. 12 Kenyon – the only three teams under par through the first 18.

Tank birdied three holes – the par-five 14
th, the par-four 16
th, and par-five 1
st – during his round, playing the 13
th through the 17
th at two-under.
Beaver birdied the par-four 13
th and 4
th, parred seven holes on the back nine (10 in total), and played the back nine at just one-over.
Slicker also birdied the 14
th, in addition to parring six holes on the back nine (11 in total), while also playing the back nine at just one-over.
Harris parred 12 holes, including each of his final five during his round, carding 39 on the front nine.
Eide, like Tank, birdied the 16
th, adding another at the par-four 3
rd while shooting 39 on the back nine, playing the 12
th through the 18
th at just one-over.
