Grantham, Pa. – Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Outdoor Championship competition concluded on Saturday for the Stevens Institute of Technology women's track and field team, with the Ducks finishing in 5
th place with 76.5 points.
Lebanon Valley won the team title with 136 points, ahead of DeSales (115), King's (98), and Misericordia (84.5).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Lauren Alley and
Anya Sadowski went 1-2 in the 400-meter hurdles, with Alley running 1:04.28 and Sadowski running 1:04.64 – Sadowski shaved 1.69 seconds off her PR, solidifying her as the fourth-fastest in the event in program history.
Alley and Sadowski were joined by
Isabella Shanley and
Isabel Vogel in the 4x400, where the quartet took 4
th running 4:05.26, the sixth-best time in program history.
The 4x400 was one of three Top-5 finishes Saturday for Shanley, who also took second in the 400 meters and 5
th in the 100-meter hurdles. Shanley's 58.10 in the 400 was just 0.27 seconds off the winning time and her 15.48 seconds in the 100 hurdles was a PR in the event by one-tenth of a second.
Isabella Gabay rounded out the team's scorers in the 1500 meters, taking fifth in 4:46.38; the time was a new PR for Gabay, breaking her old mark in the event by 0.82 seconds, further solidifying her position as the third-fastest in the event in program history.
