MADISON, N.J. – FDU-Florham used a 7-0 run early in the second half en route to a 60-46 win over Stevens Institute of Technology on Tuesday in a men’s basketball game at the Ferguson Recreation Center.

Stevens pulled to within five points, 33-28, on a layup by senior forward Eric Stanley (New York, N.Y./Solebury Prep) with 12:26 left.  It was his only basket of the game.  Stanley had averaged 24 points per game in his first two games.  FDU-Florham opened up an 11-point advantage, but Stevens trimmed the lead to six points, 47-41, on two free throws by sophomore guard Pat McCann (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) with 5:04 remaining.  The Devils then scored nine straight points over the next four minutes to secure the win.

The first half featured three ties and four lead changes with neither team building more than a five point lead.  Stevens twice led by four points, the last coming on a jumper by McCann that gave the Ducks a 17-13 lead with 7:33 left in the opening half.

Stevens was led by McCann and senior forward Jon Almonte (North Bergen, N.J./North Bergen) who had 10 points each.  Clark had seven points and pulled down six rebounds as the Ducks held a 39-35 advantage on the boards.  Stevens was plagued by cold shooting is it connected on just 28.3 percent of its field-goal attempts (15-for-53) for the game.

FDU-Florham had three players in double figures.  McCauley scored 16 points and pulled down a game-high eight rebounds while Hemschoot added 14 points and seven rebounds.
