HOBOKEN, N.J. – Junior attack Brian Lalli (Cranbury, N.J./Princeton) scored three goals, all in the first half, to lead Stevens Institute of Technology to a 17-6 win over Centenary College on Wednesday night in a men’s lacrosse game at DeBaun Field.
Stevens (3-2) also received three goals each from freshman attack Tom DiLemmo (Jefferson, N.J./Jefferson Township) and junior midfielder Matt Grande (Whitesboro, N.Y./Whitesboro). Sophomore Reese Baillie scored four goals to lead Centenary (1-3).
Stevens built a 4-0 lead after one quarter as Lalli and DiLemmo scored two goals each. Freshman attack Rich Benson (Nassau, Del./Cape Henlopen) assisted on the first two goals. DiLemmo tallied twice in a span of eight seconds, scoring with 7:25 left in the quarter and again with 7:17 remaining.
The Ducks extended their lead to 7-1 at halftime and 15-3 after three quarters. Grande scored all three of his goals in the third quarter.
Stevens held a 49-13 advantage in total shots. Juniors Matt Cannon (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) and Chris D’Urso (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) combined for six saves for the Ducks. Freshman Ryan Seickel made 14 stops for Centenary.
Stevens returns to action on Saturday, March 22, with a 1:30 p.m. game at Washington (Md.) College.
