Men's Lacrosse Puts Seven on All-America Teams

Hoboken, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team placed seven student-athletes on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-American teams, it was announced Wednesday.

Adam DeCristofaro earned Second Team honors, while Will Giarrusso and Luke Lesizza were named to the Third Team. Matthew Pergola, Jack Tenaglia, Michael Jannotte and Bastian Chorazykiewicz each received Honorable Mention recognition. Additionally, team captains Lesizza, Giarrusso and Pergola were selected to participate in the USILA North/South All-Star Game this Friday.

DeCristofaro, the MAC Freedom Midfielder of the Year, emerged as one of the nation's top offensive threats this season. He opened the year with seven straight multi-goal performances and finished with eight games of three or more goals during the regular season. The junior concluded the campaign third on the team with 48 goals, 26 assists and 74 points, while also totaling nine points on five goals and four assists in NCAA Tournament contests against Amherst and Bowdoin.

"DeCristofaro had a breakout season that put him on the national stage, forcing every opponent to game plan around him," head coach Gene Peluso said. "Earning Second Team All-American honors was a tremendous accomplishment and a reflection of the hard work and dedication he has consistently put into his game."

Giarrusso, the MAC Freedom Specialist of the Year and MAC Freedom Tournament MVP, impacted the game in every phase throughout the season. The senior won 47 of 82 faceoffs, including 16-of-24 in conference play, while finishing with 80 ground balls and eight assists. He also delivered one of his best performances of the season against No. 1 Tufts, recording six ground balls and two caused turnovers. In the MAC Freedom Championship Game victory over Arcadia, Giarrusso collected a season-high in ground balls as Stevens secured its sixth consecutive conference title.

"Giarrusso was an outstanding SSDM and a true leader as one of our team captains," Peluso expressed. "There were many games where he would leave the field and you could honestly say Will had been the best player on it. A fierce competitor, conference major award winner and Third Team All-American, every bit of his recognition was well earned."

Lesizza closed his career as one of the most accomplished defenders in program history, finishing as Stevens' all-time leader in caused turnovers while also setting the program's single-season record this spring. The senior posted his third career season with at least 40 caused turnovers and averaged better than 2.5 per game entering the MAC Freedom Tournament. He matched a career high with nine caused turnovers in the conference championship victory over Arcadia and added his fourth straight season with 40 or more ground balls.

"Lesizza proved himself to be both a leader and a dominant defensive presence all season long," Peluso stated. "As a three-time major award winner in the conference and a three-time All-American, he consistently demonstrated why he was regarded as one of the top players in the country."

Pergola capped one of the most decorated careers in program history as Stevens' all-time leader in goals and points, finishing with 246 goals and 352 points. The senior also set the program's single-season points record in 2026, totaling 107 points on 63 goals and a career-high 44 assists. A four-time All-American, Pergola collected five MAC major awards during his career, including four straight Attackman of the Year honors. He registered eight hat tricks, three five-goal games and four seven-point performances during the regular season and scored four goals in Stevens' NCAA Tournament victory over Amherst.

"Pergola's career as a four-time All-American is an incredible achievement and a testament to his consistency and excellence," Peluso said. "Winning four major conference awards — five total over four years — speaks volumes about the impact he had on our program. He put together a phenomenal career and established himself as one of the greats."

Jannotte made an immediate impact in his first collegiate season, opening the year with 18 saves in a Top 10 victory over Dickinson before posting 13 saves in a win over Oneonta two games later. Following the Dickinson performance, the MAC Freedom Co-Rookie of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year was named the USA Lacrosse Magazine National Defensive Player of the Week. Jannotte finished the season 19-2 with 194 saves, an 8.43 goals against average and 42 saves over four postseason contests, including 13 against Bowdoin in the NCAA Tournament.

"Jannotte earned outstanding recognition by being named both Goalie of the Year and Rookie of the Year in the conference," Peluso said. "Throughout the season, he ranked among the top goalies in the country and showed tremendous composure and talent. It was an exceptional beginning to what promises to be a great career."

Tenaglia continued to direct one of the nation's top offenses, leading the Ducks with 60 assists and finishing second on the team with 100 points. The junior reached double-digit assists before conference play began and elevated his game even further in league action, setting a program single-game record with 11 assists against Lebanon Valley. He averaged one full assist per game more in conference play than any player in either the MAC Freedom or MAC Commonwealth and added four assists in the NCAA Tournament victory over Amherst after scoring four goals in the MAC Freedom Championship Game.

"Tenaglia served as the quarterback of our offense and played a major role in our offensive success throughout the year," Peluso stated. "Having him and Pergola together created a special combination, and our offense greatly benefited from his vision, leadership and relentless work ethic."

Chorazykiewicz established himself among the nation's elite faceoff specialists, winning 67.5 percent of his draws on the season, including an astounding 89.2 percent mark in conference play. He won at least 90 percent of his faceoffs in four separate games and led Stevens with 233 faceoff victories and 145 ground balls, while also contributing a goal and an assist offensively. During the NCAA Tournament, Chorazykiewicz went 33-of-56 at the faceoff "X" and collected 20 ground balls across two games.

"Chorazykiewicz put together an outstanding season and firmly established himself as one of the top faceoff specialists in the country," Peluso said. "His performance and consistency were critical to our team's success and played a major role in everything we accomplished this year."
