NEW YORK, N.Y. - Junior guard Rachel Wojdowski scored 23 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead No. 19 New York University to a 73-40 victory over Stevens Institute of Technology on Tuesday in a non-conference women's basketball game at the Coles Sports Center.

NYU, now 9-0 on the season, faced its largest deficit of the season as sophomore forward Emily Weaver (Prince Frederick, Md./The Calverton School) scored on a layup with 11:41 left in the first half to give Stevens a 17-6 lead.  The Ducks went cold from that point as the Violets closed the half with a 33-5 run to take a 39-22 lead at halftime.  Stevens was scoreless over the final five minutes of the half.

For NYU, Lauren D`Ambrosio scored the 1,000th point of her career as she finished with 11 points and a team-high four assists.  The final 33-point margin was the Violets' largest lead of the game.

Stevens shot just 18.8 percent (13-for-69), including just 4-for-35 in the second half.  Senior guard Aracely Cruz (Union City, N.J./Union Hill) recorded a double-double for the Ducks with 14 points and 10 rebounds.  Junior guard Lauren Bialko (Cedar Grove, N.J./Cedar Grove) finished with 12 points.  Sophomore guard Gina Joyce (Fort Myers, Fla./Cypress Lake) had a game-high six assists.

Stevens is back in action on Saturday, January 10, when it hosts New Jersey City University in a 2 p.m. game at the Canavan Arena.
