Steve Liebezeit's goal in the 10th minute gave Stevens the initial lead against Richard Stockton.

SALISBURY, Md. – Freshman Domenick Raimo scored off a deflection with 4:53 left in the first period of sudden death overtime to lead Richard Stockton College to a 2-1 victory over Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday in the third round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship at the Salisbury University athletic complex.

Stockton (18-3-3) advances to the quarterfinals where it will play sectional host Salisbury on Sunday.  Salisbury earned a 1-0 win over Johns Hopkins.  Stevens (21-2-1) saw its season end in the Sweet 16 for the second straight year.  The Ducks, who set a school record for wins in a season, had their 15-game winning streak snapped.  Stockton, unbeaten in its last 10 games, earned its eighth straight win.  The Ospreys last loss came on October 9, ironically a 2-1 overtime loss at home to Stevens.

Midway through the first overtime, Raimo booted a 23-yard shot that deflected off a Stevens defender.  The change of direction left Ducks’ goalkeeper Chris Celentano out of direction and unable to recover.  Celentano got a hand on the ball, but was unable to stop the game-winning goal from going into the net at the 95:07 mark.

The game started off well for Stevens as junior midfielder Steve Liebezeit (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) scored on the initial shot of the game at the 9:28 mark when his shot from 25 yards beat Stockton goalkeeper Tim McKenna inside the right post.

Stockton tied the game 18 minutes later when freshman Jeremy Cohen scored on a shot from the right wing at the 27:32 mark.

Stevens had a number of quality scoring opportunities in the second half, but was unable to reclaim the lead.  Senior forward Josh Ottinger (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) hit the crossbar late in the half.  The ball deflected straight down, but did not break the plane of the goal line.

Celentano finished with five saves for Stevens while McKenna stopped three shots for Richard Stockton.
