UNION, N.J. – Junior third baseman Mark Wickersham’s two-run double capped a three-run ninth inning, as Kean rallied for a 9-8 victory over Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday afternoon.

With the win, Kean recorded its third straight victory and improved to 19-8-1, while Stevens fell to 17-14.

The Cougars entered the ninth trailing Stevens, 8-6 before freshman shortstop Perry Schatzow started the rally with a lead off single.  Freshman Aaron Richard followed with a single over the first base bag to put the tying runs on base. Sophomore Kevin Wright then got Kean within one run with a single to left that scored Schatzow. Wickersham then came to the plate and blasted the first pitch to deep center field driving in Richard and Wright.

Stevens trailed 5-1, but used a six-run rally against three Kean pitchers in the top of the fifth inning to claim a 7-5 lead.  Senior Adam Yoda (Saddle Brook, N.J./Saddle Brook), sophomore Gerard Moreno (Bogota, N.J./Bogota) and junior Jeff Drobik (Little Falls, N.J./Passaic Valley) had RBI singles in the inning, giving the Ducks a 7-5 advantage.  Stevens added another run in the sixth on an RBI single by junior Mike Carrano (North Arlington, N.J./North Arlington). Kean cut the Ducks' lead to 8-6 in the seventh when Richard stole home on the front end of a double steal.

Drobik went 2-for-5 with one RBI to lead Stevens at the plate. Freshman Adam Sandt (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) had one hit in four at bats and scored two runs.
