Baseball's Sterling Participates in 2026 Fall NCAA Legacy Lab

Hoboken, N.J. – Quinton Sterling, a member of the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team, was one of 47 student-athletes from across all three NCAA divisions selected to participate in the 2026 NCAA Legacy Lab, held Sept. 10-13 in Indianapolis.

The four-day program, hosted by NCAA leadership development staff, brought together sophomore and junior student-athletes for an interactive experience centered around entrepreneurship, personal branding, professional development and creating a positive impact. Participants took part in keynote presentations, workshops, games and the program's signature pitch competition, the Hustle Bowl.

"It was an amazing experience and I was proud to represent Stevens at the NCAA Legacy Lab," Sterling expressed. "The NCAA did a great job with the speakers, they seemed to care deeply about us, looking past our sports but to who we are as people. Because it was this personal, I found myself in a crowd of other talented student athletes encouraged about my potential, and realizing that the purpose of the Legacy Lab was to hone it."

Designed to provide student-athletes with tools they can use beyond their collegiate careers, the Legacy Lab offered participants three different learning tracks: Brand in Motion, Blueprint to Breakthrough and Built To Serve. Brand in Motion focused on responsibly and effectively monetizing name, image and likeness opportunities, while Blueprint to Breakthrough explored the fundamentals of starting, operating and growing a business. Built To Serve centered on developing ventures that balance social responsibility with profitability. The Legacy Lab curriculum was developed in alignment with the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025, with an emphasis on helping student-athletes develop the networks, skills and mindset necessary to pursue careers in entrepreneurship and other professional fields.

Sterling's selection provided him with an opportunity to represent Stevens while connecting with student-athletes from across the country and gaining hands-on experience in entrepreneurship and professional development. The 2026 event marked the second iteration of the NCAA Legacy Lab. NCAA leadership development programming provides educational and professional development opportunities for student-athletes, postgraduate interns, coaches and administrators throughout the NCAA membership.
