POMONA, N.J. - Senior midfielder Erik Reckdenwald (Glen Aubrey, N.Y./Whitney Point) scored four goals and senior midfielder Brian Lalli (Cranbury, N.J./Princeton) had three goals and three assists to lead Stevens Institute of Technology to a 15-4 win over Richard Stockton College on Wednesday night in a Knickerbocker Lacrosse Conference game.
Stevens earned its sixth straight win, improving to 8-2 overall and 5-0 in Knickerbocker play. Stockton ends its regular season at 7-6 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
Stevens never trailed in the game. The Ducks led 3-0 after the first quarter. Reckdenwald scored the initial goal off an assist from Lalli with 11:59 left in the opening quarter. Sophomore attack Rich Benson (Rehoboth Beach, Del./Cape Henlopen) followed at 5:55 and Lalli scored off an assist from Benson with 3:10 left.
The teams traded goals in the second quarter as Stevens carried a 4-1 lead into halftime. The Ducks exploded in the third quarter with six unanswered goals as the built a 10-1 lead heading into the final period.
Stevens also received two goals and two assists from senior midfielder Matt Kuppe (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley). Benson had two goals and one assist while freshman attack Patrick Bailey (Manassas, Va./Osborne Park) also scored two goals.
Stevens is back in action on Saturday, April 24, when it hosts Kean in a Knickerbocker game beginning at 7 p.m.
