Women's Basketball falls to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 82-45

CLAREMONT, Calif. – Freshman forward Dora Enright (Longmont, Colo./Longmont) tallied 13 points and freshman guard Jackie Pannell (Bloomfield, Conn./Suffield Academy) added nine, but the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s basketball dropped an 82-45 decision to Claremont in a non-conference game on Saturday night.

With the loss, Stevens falls to 7-3 on the season, while Claremont improves to 9-2.

With the Ducks trailing by only seven in the first half, Claremont took advantage of a 13-4 run in the span of 4:08 to increase its lead to 29-13 with 8:28 remaining in the half.  Claremont-Mudd-Scripps continued to dominate and jumped out to a commanding 52-24 lead going into the break.    

In the second half, Claremont led by as many as 40 points, 82-42 with two minutes remaining in the game enroute to a 82-45 victory. 

The Ducks will end their road trip on Sunday, January 9 when they face Chapman.  Game time is set for 2 p.m.
