Women’s Basketball Falls to FDU, 60-43

HOBOKEN, N.J. (November 22, 2005)Sophomore Dora Enright (Longmont, Colo.) totaled 17 points and pulled down a game-high 16 rebounds, but the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s basketball dropped a 60-43 decision to FDU-Florham on Tuesday night at the Ferguson Recreation Center in Madison, N.J.  Senior Jenna Gambino (Staten Island, N.Y.) added 17 points in the game for Stevens.  With the loss, the Ducks drop to 1-2 on the season.

With the game tied 13-13 with 6:42 remaining in the first half, the Devils used an 18-3 run to take a commanding 31-16 lead headed into the break.  FDU shot 41.9 percent in the half (13-for -31) and 37.5 (3-for-8) from the free-throw line and was led by Danielle Yasko with 11 points.  Stevens shot only 17.9 percent from the field in the half (5-for-28) and was 83.3 percent (5-for-6) from the free-throw line.

The Ducks got no closer than 11 points in the second half of the game. 

FDU finished the game shooting 40 percent from the field and 55 percent from the free-throw line, while Stevens finished the game 22.4 percent from the field and 60 percent from the free-throw line.  Yasko finished the game with a game-high 19 points for the Devils.

The Ducks return to action on Monday, November 28 when they host Ramapo College at 7 p.m.
