Women’s Basketball Drops 64-52 Decision to Lehman

BRONX, N.Y. (November 30, 2005)Sophomore Dora Enright (Longmont, Colo.) led the Ducks with 13 points and 12 rebounds, but the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s basketball team dropped a 64-52 decision to Lehman College on Wednesday night.  The loss drops the Ducks to 2-3 on the season.  Senior Jenna Gambino (Staten Island, N.Y.) added 12 points and 12 rebounds in the game for Stevens. 

Trailing by eight with 4:15 left in the first half, the Ducks used an 8-4 run to close within four heading into the break.  Lehman jumped out to a 10-point lead within the first four minutes of the second half.  The Ducks closed to within one, (39-38) with 9:39 left in the game, but a 14-4 run by the Lightning gave them a 53-42 advantage with just 4:13 to play.  Stevens got no closer than eight points in the last four minutes of the game. 

Lehman held Stevens to 28.4 percent shooting from the floor and forced 20 rebounds by the Ducks.

The Ducks return to action on Friday, December 2 when host the College of Staten Island at 7 p.m.
