SUNBURY, Ohio - Stevens Institute of Technology freshman Kerri Rettig (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) finished first in the Intermediate on the Flat at the 2005 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championship Show held on Saturday at the Eden Park Equestrian Complex.
The individual national title is the first for a Stevens rider in the three-year history of the program. Rettig, who captured the Zone 2 championship in Intermediate on the Flat on April 9, beat out 17 other national qualifiers to claim the championship. The top two finishers in each of the nine zones qualify for the IHSA Nationals.
