Sorber Takes Second in Novice Flat to Lead Equestrian

The Basics

The lead: Freshman Katie Sorber placed second in Novice Flat for the second time this season to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology equestrian team at the William Paterson Show on Nov. 11.
Location: New Jersey Equestrian Center - Pompton Plains, New Jersey
Short Story: Sorber was the top finisher for Stevens leading eight placements for the Ducks, who finished fifth on the day with 14 points. Centenary edged SUNY New Paltz by one point to win the team event with 43 points.

Top Finishers

Sorber also earned fifth place in Novice Fences to round out her competition.
Senior Saarah Mohammedi placed fifth in Open Fences and fourth in Open Flat.
Senior Nadia Hoellrigl and sophomore Sarah Wiessler each placed fourth in Novice Flat.
Freshman Natasha Collett earned a reserve finish in Walk-Trot Canter and sophomore Madeline Hutchinson placed fourth in Walk-Trot to round out the competition.

Up Next

Equestrian returns to action on Nov. 17 for the annual Stevens Show at the Centenary University Equestrian Center. The show will be Stevens' lone home-designated show.
