Equestrian Finishes Fifth at New Paltz Show

The Basics
  • The lead: For the second consecutive event, freshman Katie Sorber earned the highest finish for the Stevens Institute of Technology equestrian team, earning second in Novice Flat, to lead the team to a fifth-place finish Saturday at the New Paltz Show.
  • Location: Lucky C Stables - New Paltz, New York
  • Short Story: After placing third Novice Flat event in her first collegiate event, Sorber improved by one position to place second, helping Stevens total 19 team points. The event was the second show of the 2018-19 season. Sorber also took fourth in Novice Fences.

Top Finishers
  • Senior Saarah Mohammedi earned fourth in both Open Fences and Open Flat. Classmate Nadia Hoellrigl placed fourth in Novice Flat.
  • Freshman Nadia Collett placed fourth in Walk-Trot Canter, while sophomore Madeline Hutchinson took fifth in Walk-Trot.
  • Senior Anthony D'Aiuto finished fifth in Walk-Trot in his first event of the season to round of the Stevens contingent.
