Johns Hopkins Downs Stevens Women’s Soccer, 6-0

BALTIMORE, MD – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s soccer team opened the season with a 6-0 loss to Johns Hopkins in the opening game of the Johns Hopkins Invitational Saturday afternoon at Homewood Field in Baltimore, MD.

JHU scored five goals in the opening half to build sizable advantage. The Ducks contained the Blue Jays for nearly the entire second half before surrendering a final goal.

The Blue Jays outshot Stevens, 22-5, holding a 2-0 edge in corner kicks. 

Junior goalie Erica Midttveit (Jackson, NJ) made four saves for the Ducks, while her counterpart, Kerry Hamilton of Johns Hopkins registered one stop.  

The Ducks return to action on Sunday, facing Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the tournament’s final game at 7 p.m.
