HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 16, 2007) – Sophomore forward Todd Sheridan scored the deciding goal with nine seconds remaining the opening period on Wednesday evening at the De Baun Athletic Complex as the No. 14 Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team defeated Richard Stockton College, 2-0, in its final regular season home contest. With the win, Stevens improves to 12-1-2 on the year, while the Ospreys drop to 9-6-2.

Sheridan, who was waiting to notch his first marker on the year, found the back of the net in the final minute of the first half when he headed a ball into the left corner of the goal. Sophomore defender Josh Williams was credited with the assist. Then, in the 67th-minute, sophomore forward Terrance Johnson tallied his third goal in his last four games when he went through two defenders and slid the ball under present Richard Stockton junior goaltender Tim McKenna (Sewell, N.J.).

McKenna and junior goalkeeper Brad Ferguson (Galloway, N.J.) combined to make three saves for the Ospreys, who held a 6-4 edge in corner kicks. Their counterpart, freshman goalie Zach Carr turned aside a game-high six shots for the Ducks, who owned a 21-13 shot advantage in the match. Carr also managed to record his eighth shutout of the season in the process.

Head Coach Tim O'Donohue and his squad finish up the 2007 campaign on a three-game road swing, which begins this Saturday in Alfred, N.Y. against the Saxons of Alfred University. Kick-off is slated for 4 p.m.
