Men’s Volleyball Rolls Past Divison I Harvard, 3-0

Sophomore Joe Trinsey contributed nine kills and one block as the Ducks earned a 3-0 sweep of Divison I Harvard.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (April 7, 2007) – The Stevens Institute of Technology’s men’s volleyball team recorded a 3-0 victory over Division I Harvard University (30-26, 30-27, 30-27) on Saturday afternoon.  Senior middle/outside hitter Scott Stoner (Wantagh, N.Y.) led Stevens with 14 kills, nine digs and one block on the night.  With the win, the Ducks improved to 33-6 overall.

Sophomore outside hitter Tomas Bochicchio (Saint James, N.Y.) was second on the team with 10 kills and three blocks.  Sophomore outside hitter/setter Joe Trinsey (Wilmington, Del.) totaled nine kills and one block.  Junior outside hitter/libero Brian Carlson (West Seneca, N.Y.) was second on the team with six digs.  Senior setter/outside hitter Michael Schulte (San Bernardino, Calif.) led the team in assists with 42.

Junior outside hitter Jordan Weitzen (San Diego, Calif.) totaled 10 kills and one block for the Crimson.  Sophomore middle hitter Brady Weissbourd (Chicago, Ill.) was second on the team with 10 kills and three blocks.  Senior outside hitter Lawrence Favrot (San Diego, Calif.) led the team with seven digs. 

Stevens will be back in action on Tuesday when it travels to Princeton, N.J. to face Princeton University at 7 p.m.
