CLIFTON, N.J. (May 15, 2008) – On Wednesday morning, the New Jersey Pride of Major League Lacrosse announced its 23-man active roster and three-man practice squad for the upcoming 2008 season. Former Stevens Institute of Technology standout and current men's lacrosse graduate assistant coach Mark Bielicky joined midfielders Tom Kessler and Colin Checcio on the practice team. The Pride is the Garden State's only professional lacrosse team. New Jersey will open the season on May 17 in New England against the Boston Cannons at 7 p.m. The Pride's first home game is slated for June 6 against Boston at 7:30 p.m. at Yurcak Field on the campus of Rutgers University.

As a member of the Ducks from 2004-07, Bielicky accumulated 227 points on 164 goals and 63 assists in 71 games played. He also totaled nine game-winning goals, 96 ground balls, and 21 caused turnovers. Currently, he ranks first all-time at Stevens in goals and points. He is fifth in total assists.

A four-time All-Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference selection, Bielicky helped the Ducks to three Knickerbocker Lacrosse Conference titles and three trips to the NCAA Tournament over the course of his four seasons with the team. He was also a four-time first-team all-conference selection.

As a freshman in 2004, Bielicky was named the Knickerbocker Rookie of the Year as he led the Ducks to a conference title and a trip to the national quarterfinals. In 2005, Bielicky was selected as an All-America honorable mention by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association as Stevens reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

During his junior season, Bielicky was tabbed as a third-team All-American and garnered Knickerbocker Player of the Year honors. The Ducks advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament that season before losing to eventual national champion SUNY Cortland.

Bielicky closed out his career in 2007 by leading Stevens to its first-ever ECAC Metro Championship. Along the way, he was named an All-America honorable mention and competed in the prestigious North-South Classic.
