HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 7, 2009) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team, winners of three straight, failed to extend their win-streak to four after falling to No. 21 The College of New Jersey, 4-0. The Ducks are now 3-9-0 on the season and 2-1 in the Empire 8 after a four-game homestand which saw them take three straight from non-conference foe Drew University and league rivals Elmira College and Alfred University before falling to the Lions. TCNJ, which extended its own win-streak to four, is now 11-1-0 on the year.

Lions freshman forward Katie Landrigan (Rutherford, N.J.) opened up scoring in the 29th minute when she scored on a long Allyson Anderson (Point Pleasant, N.J.) through ball from the right side. Senior defender Jillian Casey (Voorhees, N.J.) would stake the TCNJ to a 2-0 advantage with a header to the top right corner off a Nikki Migliori (Hamilton, N.J.) corner-kick. Landrigan would net her second marker of the evening at 77:48 on a breakaway following a long Amy Van Dyk (Wyckoff, N.J.) through ball before senior midfielder Kristina Shemming (Cranbury, N.J.) scored the game's final goal with an unassisted tally in the 81st minute.

Juniors Jenn Pontier and Katria Misilo, and freshman Paige Allen each recorded a shot in the loss, while sophomore goalkeeper Kaitlin McClymont made 11 saves. TCNJ held a 30 to 3 shot advantage and a 13-1 edge in corner-kicks.

Stevens returns to conference action this weekend when it travels to Rochester Institute of Technology and St. John Fisher College on October 10 and 11, respectively.
