Men’s Fencing Falls to NYU, 15-12

NEW YORK, N.Y. (November 29, 2012)
– The Stevens Institute of Technology men's fencing team came up short against New York University, 15-12, on Thursday night across the Hudson River. Stevens is now 7-3 on the season after the loss.

Senior Billy Danhauser (Fairfield, Conn.) and sophomore Jorge Rojas (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) each went 3-0 in epee and foil, respectively. Danhauser won his three bouts in epee by scores of 5-3, 5-2, 5-2, while Rojas was perfect in foil with 5-2, 5-4, 5-3, scores.

Freshman Daniel Tracey (Livingston, N.J.) posted a 2-1 mark as a foilist to round out the top performances for the Ducks. Tracey won matches by 5-4, 4-3 outcomes and dropped a 5-2 decision.

Stevens will be back in action tomorrow against DI institutions Columbia University and New Jersey Institute of Technology in New York at 4 p.m.
