Women’s Basketball Remains Among NCAA Leaders

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 12, 2012) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team is still among the best teams in the country in numerous defensive categories as the NCAA announced its second national statistics rankings report of the season on Tuesday. Senior Maggie Kowalska (Edison, N.J.) and freshman Dylan Krause (Atlanta, Ga.) also remain among the individual stat leaders.

As a team, the Ducks are 10th nationally with 5.9 blocks per game and 16th in field-goal percentage defense, currently holding teams to 29.7 percent shooting. Stevens is 34th in rebound margin, earning nine more boards per game than their opponents, and 46th in three-point FG defense (with opponents shooting 22.3 percent).

Individually, Dylan Krause is tied for 56th in the country with three double-doubles to her credit this season. She is also 82nd in the nation with 1.71 blocks per game.

Senior Maggie Kowalska is also among the top shot blockers, coming in at No. 70 with 1.86 blocks per game.

Stevens will host TCNJ in its next game, a 1 p.m. date on December 15 that will mark the final contest of the fall semester.
