HOBOKEN, N.J. (November 22, 2013) – The nationally-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology men's and women's swimming programs will welcome The College of New Jersey to Hoboken for a dual-meet Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
The Lions and Ducks will renew a rivalry that started in 2010-11 and has taken place ever since. The Stevens men are ranked seventh nationally by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), while the women are No. 8. The TCNJ women are currently not in the poll but the Lion men check in right behind the Ducks at No. 9.
The Stevens men have started the year strong with a convincing victory over Saint Peter's College – an NCAA Division I opponent – and a win at the New York University Fall Invitational. The Duck women have dropped two tough battles to DI's Columbia and Saint Peter's, and placed second at NYU a couple weeks back.
Following this dual, the Ducks will begin preparation for the annual Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships at Lehman College in the Bronx which will close out both squads 2013 portion of the schedule. That meet will run from December 6-8.
This is one of only two home meets this season and Stevens-TCNJ is always one of the fastest and tightly contested dual-meets in the nation each season.
All the Saturday action gets underway from the De Baun Aquatic Center at 1 p.m. and for those unable to attend the meet, it will be broadcast live at
