HOBOKEN, N.J. (February 7, 2013) – With the approaching storm threatening Hoboken, Stevens Institute of Technology has altered its men's and women's basketball schedules for both Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, the women's basketball team will battle Elmira College beginning at 4 p.m. in the Canavan Arena. Men's basketball will follow at 6 p.m. as both games will be played two hours earlier than originally scheduled.
Prior to the women's game Friday, Stevens will honor senior forward
Maggie Kowalska (Edison, N.J.) as part of Senior Day.
Saturday's games in Canavan will be pushed back two hours each. The women will tip-off against Ithaca College at 4 p.m. and the men will get underway at 6 p.m. vs. the Bombers. Both teams will be taking part in Coaches vs. Cancer with fun contests and other events. The men will also be hosting their Duck Country game, Senior Day and Alumni Day. Senior guards
Sheldon Jones (Queens, N.Y.) and
Russ Thompson (West Orange, N.J.) will be honored prior to tip-off.
All four games will be webcast live at
www.Empire8.TV and those in the area are strongly encouraged to come to the game and support the Ducks as they look for big conference wins. General admission is $5 with the gate proceeds going towards Coaches vs. Cancer. Stevens staff, students and faculty are free with ID.
