HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 18, 2013) – In the most recent NCAA Regional Rankings, the Stevens Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team landed as the No. 3 team in the North with a 9-2 record. Stevens is ranked No. 6 nationally according to the latest USILA Top 20 poll and defeated Elmira College yesterday, 23-2, for the team's 10th victory of the season.

The Ducks sit only behind the nation's top team in SUNY Cortland and third ranked Rochester Institute of Technology in the north. Cortland owns an unblemished record of 11-0, while RIT is 11-2 overall as of April 17. Stevens lost a heartbreaker earlier this season to Cortland, 12-11, in overtime and also dropped a 10-9 decision to the Red Dragons in the second round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament.

Stevens is currently riding a five-game winning streak and will take that momentum to Nazareth College on Saturday at 1 p.m. for a battle of top teams in the Empire 8 Conference. Nazareth, ranked eighth in the north, holds a 9-4 mark this year and is 4-0 in the Empire 8. The Ducks are also undefeated in the conference at 4-0.

So far this season, the Ducks have scored victories over No. 10 Endicott College, 21-9, on February 24 and a 10-8 win against 14th-ranked St. John Fisher College on April 6. Stevens fell to No. 9 Tufts University, 18-14, on March 16 to make up the team's regionally ranked opponent thus far. All three contests were at home for Stevens.

After Saturday's game, Stevens will host Hartwick College on April 24 at 7 p.m. and then wrap up the regular season with a battle against No. 20 Ithaca College on the 27th at 2 p.m. Ithaca holds the 13th spot in the north with a 9-4 ledger.
