Pre-Match Interview - Lisa Tessitore & Jessica Bourque
HOBOKEN, N.J. (September 24, 2013) – Three Stevens Institute of Technology teams will be hosting key non-conference home contests Wednesday in Hoboken – women's tennis, field hockey and women's soccer.
The Stevens women's tennis team will be the first team to get underway, welcoming Muhlenberg College to the Stevens Tennis Courts for a 4 p.m. dual-match. The Ducks will put their flawless record of 6-0 on the line against a Muhlenberg team that will be playing its first dual-match of the season after opening at the ITA Southeast Regional last weekend.
Field hockey takes on Cabrini College at 5 p.m. on the De Baun turf, and will be looking to push its winning streak to four games after a 5-4 Empire 8 win at Hartwick College Saturday. The Ducks have scored 12 goals in their last three games, while the Cavaliers are coming off a 3-1 victory over Widener University September 20. Cabrini is 2-5 overall.
Women's soccer will close the busy day with a match against 6-1-0 Drew University. The Ducks are coming off one of their best performances of the season in a 3-1 win over Houghton College Saturday and are 3-4-0 overall. Stevens downed the Rangers 1-0 in Madison in 2012.
Prior to the women's tennis match, Stevens will be giving out flashlights to students in attendance (while supplies last), and from 6:30-8 p.m. there will be a free tailgate for Duck fans with great food sponsored by Phi Sig.
