HOBOKEN, N.J. (September 25, 2013)
 – Junior Jessica Bourque (Houma, La.), junior Elena Cocineva-Lenge (Chester, N.J.) and senior Lisa Tessitore (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) were all part of doubles and singles wins as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team improved to 7-0 overall with a 6-3 non-conference victory over Muhlenberg College Wednesday in Hoboken.

Bourque and Tessitore earned a win at first doubles, 8-3 over senior Emily Szulman and junior Jennifer Goldberg, with junior Danielle Stewart (North Plainfield, N.J.) and Cocineva-Lenge rolling 8-1 over junior Danni Yaron and freshman Jamie Rosenblum.

The Ducks dropped their third doubles match to head into singles action with a 2-1 margin. At No. 1, Bourque won 6-2, 6-3 over Szulman, with Tessitore earning a tough 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 decision at second singles.

Muhlenberg took Nos. 3 and 5 singles, but Cocineva downed Yaron in the fourth slot and freshman Lily Bruenjes (Portland, Maine) defeated sophomore Jenny Levenson (Andover, Mass.) in the sixth spot. Bruenjes prevailed 7-5, 7-5 in her match, with Cocineva-Lenge coming back for a 1-6, 7-6, 7-5 win.

"We were very happy to see Lily and Elena pull out tough wins tonight," Head Coach Steve Gachko (Hoboken, N.J.) said after the match. "Lily found her way out of an 0-5 hole to take her first set 7-5, and then battled back from 2-5 in the second to win as well. Elena then came back from a 1-4 deficit in the third to win her match, so it was great to see our fight and resilience versus a tough Muhlenberg squad."

The Ducks – who have yet to be defeated this year – have dropped only 10 individual matches all season while winning 52.

Stevens will now head to Geneva, N.Y. for the ITA Northeast Regional this weekend before returning to home dual-match action October 4 and 6 against Houghton College (October 4), Ithaca College (October 6) and Elmira College (October 6). All three contests will be part of 2013 Homecoming Weekend.
