HOBOKEN, N.J. (January 15, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team (11-1) will host Ithaca College and Elmira College this Friday and Saturday respectively in a pair of key Empire 8 Conference games.
Friday tip is set for 6 p.m., and free Jimmy John's will be provided as part of
#AllRise Weekend. Free pizza will also be available prior to Saturday's 3 p.m. tip.
SCOUTING REPORT Since dropping a pair of games in late December, Ithaca has won three straight over E8 opponents. Sophomore Ali Ricchiuti is the only Bombers player averaging double-figures in points (10.5 ppg) while senior Francesca Cotrupe averages 8.7 rebounds per game.
Senior Alex Balara and freshman Danielle Cleary both lead Elmira in scoring at 16.1 and 15.8 points per game respectively for a Soaring Eagles team that's won two of its last three.
CHASING HISTORY With 11 straight wins in hand, the Ducks are just one win shy of tying the program record for consecutive wins set during the 2007-08 season. Stevens is also off to its best start since going 12-1 to begin the 2010-11 campaign.
CONFERENCE STANDING Stevens and Ithaca are the only two remaining conference unbeatens while Elmira enters play on Friday at 2-3. The Ducks currently lead the conference in scoring margin, field goal percentage, free throw percentage, and blocks.
ASTEL AWARENESS Junior
Kaitlyn Astel has scored in double-figures in 10 of Stevens' 12 games this season, including the last eight in-a-row. Astel leads the Ducks in scoring (15.9 ppg) and rebounding (7.3 rpg), and was named the conference's player of the week on Monday.

Megan Brown comprise the Ducks quartet of players averaging at least 4.7 rebounds per game. Stevens currently leads the conference in defensive rebounding and rebounding margin.
FRESHMAN IMPACT Brown and freshman
Sydney Darby combined have accounted for nearly 10 points per game in 24 games played. Additionally, Brown has recorded at least four rebounds in seven games this season while Darby has hit double-figures in scoring twice.
Freshman
Anna Toke has now played in six straight games since recovering from an injury last season including a career high 20 minutes in Monday's win over the College of New Jersey.
