WEST POINT, N.Y. (January 17, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's fencing team completed a 6-0 day Saturday at the one-day Army Invitational.
The Ducks posted a 21-6 win against the United State Military Academy, a 21-6 win against Cleveland State University, a 23-4 win over the University of Detroit, a 19-8 win over Hunter College, a 20-7 win over City College of New York, and a 22-5 win over Swarthmore College.
Junior
Caroleen Chen led the way in foil with a 12-3 record while senior
Taia Harrison and junior
Jane Cruz went 10-4 and 6-0 respectively. Freshman
Abby Kaye went 9-4.
In epee, senior
Sienna Batzli and freshman
Erin Hatcher went 11-0 and 10-0 respectively, while freshman Youmma Sayed went 8-2.
Freshman
Karen Kong and junior
Zoe To led at sabre with 18-0 records each, while
Kyria Johnson went 13-3.
The Ducks will return to the strips competitively next Sunday at the UNH Invitational after first hosting their annual alumni day tomorrow in Hoboken.
